SALT WATER POOLS
HAYWARD SALT WATER SYSTEM
Your digital box shows you the amount of salt that is available to you. This should ready between 2700 and 3400.
The % dial is for CHLORINE only. By using your test strip you can reduce or increase the chlorine output or increase the chlorine output by turning the % down or up. Try to keep chlorine in the IDEAL range on your test strip. If it’s to low you can get algae growing. If it’s too high you will get irritated skin and eyes.
Beginning of the Season:
It is very important to have your water tested! And it’s FREE! Proper water levels are necessary to protect your pool, liner, pump and salt machine.
• Bring in your water for a FREE water analysis
• Balance your water with the formula we give you
• Clean your sand with the sand Filter Cleaner
• Keep an eye on your salt digital reading until you reach a number between 2700-3400
• Once you have your salt reading find the proper % to set your machine at by using the test strips over a few day period.
Every once and awhile check your pool with test strips to make any needed adjustments especially after heavy usage or rain. Make sure your % is reading in the IDEAL range on your test strips.
Please note that if you are doing backwashing your digital display may drop in #...therefore more salt is needed to bring this # back up. At the END of the POOL SEASON we highly recommend cleaning your Salt Cell with Salt Cell Saver.
